The Driftwood Village Center sits on the bank of a reservoir in Liugang Village, Xinyang, arranged with a three-sided scenic spatial layout. The reservoir serves as a source of agricultural irrigation and undergoes seasonal fluctuations in water level driven by farming needs. Daily agrarian life of the villagers revolves around the reservoir and its changing shoreline. The project design team includes Xiang Huang, Songyan Mao, Cong Liu, Zhiyan Lin, Le Chang, Dawei Wu, Qi Lu, and Zilin Tian. Zhongke Architectural Planning and Design Research Institute handled general construction for the Government of Zhashan Township, Xinyang City.
