""To soften the awkward layout and update the home's look while keeping true to its traditional style," she says."

""The floors were the star of the show!" says Moore."
Homeowners of a four-bedroom Fredericksburg house kept a traditional red, yellow, and blue palette and made few updates over 22 years. They hired a professional stager to soften an awkward family-room layout while preserving traditional character to attract younger buyers. Walls were repainted a neutral shade with beige undertones to warm the room and complement original hardwood floors. Worn red brick on the fireplace was painted to refresh the feature. Gold accents including books, decorative objects, textured glass lamps, and a gold-framed mirror were added to create cohesion and elevate the fireplace as a selling point. Thoughtful furniture placement improved flow and marketability.
