Grand reopening of Campbell Library delayed
""While this change added to the timeline as the grant was awarded after the building plans were developed, it is one that provides long-term benefits to the residents of Campbell as fully electric buildings reduce energy costs and are environmentally friendly," said Diane Roche, director of marketing and communications for the Santa Clara County Library District."
""filled with the alphabet, sight words, numbers, interactive elements, an area dedicated to babies and prewalkers and other elements of Campbell that residents will recognize.""
""a flexible, welcoming space to read, relax, work or study," Roche said, "with comfortable seating, a browsing collection and windows that look out over the Orchard Green.""
A $500,000 grant from Silicon Valley Clean Energy funded conversion of the Campbell Library remodel to an all-electric facility after initial plans were approved. Modifying plans to accommodate the all-electric system extended the project timeline and pushed the grand opening by as much as a year. Fully electric buildings are expected to reduce energy costs and produce environmental benefits for residents. Renovation features include floor-to-ceiling windows, public meeting rooms, a large community room with state-of-the-art technology, a children's area with the Dreamy Downtown early learning play space, dedicated teen and adult spaces, and an upstairs Overlook. Winter 2026 is the expected timeframe for opening, with a specific date pending.
