Online Course: Worldmodels & Ontologies: Visions of Reality in Chinese Thought
"The online course "Worldmodels & Ontologies: Visions of Reality in Chinese Thought" will be running from Thursday, 16 October to Thursday, 18 December 2025. This seminar is designed in collaboration with colleagues from the University of Zurich, the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, and National Chengchi University (NCCU). Scholars, students, and practitioners are warmly invited to join this collaborative exploration of how different textual traditions in China have structured their visions of reality."
"The course will be held weekly on Thursdays from 8:00-10:00 CET, with two block seminars on Saturdays: 29 November and 13 December (10:00-12:00 and 12:00-14:00 CET). Please note that the course schedule is given in Central European Time (CET). There will be a transition from summer time (CEST) to winter time (CET) on 26 October (after the first two sessions of the course), which may affect the time difference between your local zone and the session time-please plan accordingly."
An online seminar titled "Worldmodels & Ontologies: Visions of Reality in Chinese Thought" runs from 16 October to 18 December 2025 with weekly Thursday sessions and two Saturday block seminars. The program is organized collaboratively by the University of Zurich, the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, and National Chengchi University (NCCU). Sessions cover excavated manuscripts, classical philosophical texts, mathematical treatises, and materials from Buddhist, Xuanxue, and Neo-Confucian traditions. The seminar targets Master's and advanced students and is open to participants with basic or advanced Classical Chinese and interest in comparative thought.
