Adeline Rudolph Is in Her Badass Heroine Era
Adeline Rudolph once dreamed of traveling the world as a journalist, possibly as a war correspondent, driven by storytelling and understanding people’s perspectives. She grew up in 1990s Hong Kong with German and Korean family roots, creating homemade books of short stories and singing pop music covers. She learned guitar and enjoyed nature through frequent hikes and freedom to explore. Her acting experience began with a school production of The Wizard of Oz, playing the Scarecrow, and she later pursued acting after graduating. While studying political science at University College London, she worked part-time as a model. After graduation, she landed a series regular role in Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and later became a leading performer as Princess Kitana in Mortal Kombat II.
"Maybe a war journalist. Storytelling and creating stories people could empathize with was something I was keen on. I wanted to understand the world. Maybe there's a parallel universe Adeline running around doing that."
"Born to a German father and Korean mother, she grew up in 1990s Hong Kong where her creativity manifested in homemade books filled with short stories and singing pop music covers into hairbrushes. I learned guitar, but please don't ask me to play, she jokes. In Hong Kong, she took full advantage of the scenery. I loved nature. I went on a lot of hikes. People underestimate how much nature Hong Kong has to offer. I had freedom to run around and do my thing."
"Her only experience acting was in a school production of The Wizard of Oz, where she played the Scarecrow. Seeds were planted, but [acting] wasn't something I thought was viable until after I graduated and took the leap."
"In Mortal Kombat II, Rudolph leads as Princess Kitana, a noble-born warrior who swears vengeance against the conquering invader Shao Kahn, who bested her father in a deadly duel."
