South Korean President Lee Jae Myung met Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing to restore full bilateral relations and deepen a strategic cooperative partnership after tense ties over North Korea and South China Sea disputes. Delegates from both countries signed several memorandums of understanding in the Great Hall of the People. The leaders committed to seeking feasible alternatives for peace on the Korean Peninsula and addressing differences through dialogue and consultations. Beijing and Seoul emphasized jointly safeguarding peace and stability in Northeast Asia and cited broad common interests and responsibilities amid rapid, complex global changes.
