North Korea denounces muscle-flexing' US-South Korean military exercises

"The muscle-flexing of the hostile forces near the areas of our state's sovereignty and security may cause unimaginably terrible consequences. The enemies should never try to test our patience, will and capability. We will watch to what extent the enemy violates the security of our state and what it is playing at."

North Korea's Kim Yo Jong condemned the annual Freedom Shield joint military exercises conducted by the United States and South Korea, characterizing them as destabilizing actions that threaten East Asian security. She warned that military operations near North Korea's borders could produce unimaginably terrible consequences and cautioned against testing North Korea's patience, will, and capability. The 10-day exercises involve 18,000 South Korean and US military personnel conducting 22 field training drills designed to strengthen alliance response capabilities. Kim rejected justifications for the exercises, arguing their confrontational nature remains unchanged regardless of stated defensive purposes, and emphasized that global geopolitical tensions validate concerns about such military maneuvers.
