A proposal links ending the Iran war to requiring multiple Middle East countries to normalize relations with Israel by signing the Abraham Accords. The proposal names Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Pakistan, Türkiye, Egypt, Jordan, and Bahrain, noting that some have already signed. The Abraham Accords were brokered in 2020 and involve Israel suspending annexation plans in exchange for normalization with signatories. Rep. Jake Auchincloss supports the Abraham Accords but says he does not understand what mandatory participation would mean. He suggests the main difficulty is not opposition to Iran, but expanding the accords to additional countries.
"It should be mandatory that all of these Countries, at a minimum, simultaneously, sign onto the Abraham Accords. Those Countries discussed are Saudi Arabia, The United Arab Emirates (already a Member!), Qatar, Pakistan, Turkiye, Egypt, Jordan, and Bahrain (already a Member!). It may be possible that one or two have a reason for not doing so, and that will be accepted, but most should be ready, willing, and able to make this Settlement with Iran a far more Historic Event than it would, otherwise, be."
