The U.S. will not participate in the annual World Health Assembly for the first time since 1948 due to its withdrawal from the WHO under President Trump's administration. This absence from discussions, which focus on crucial issues like pandemic preparedness and air quality, poses a challenge to global health initiatives. Experts express that the U.S.'s non-participation could limit collaborative efforts to tackle health crises while highlighting the significance of the assembly, which is set to potentially adopt a historic pandemic treaty.
