Dutch far-right politician Wilders fears he may have been a target of Belgian attack plotters
"From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging."
"Dutch far-right politician Geert Wilders said Friday that he's going nowhere until reports are investigated that he was a possible target of a suspected plot in Belgium to kill politicians using a drone carrying explosives. Three men were taken into custody on Thursday after searches of their homes in the port city of Antwerp by police using explosives sniffer dogs. A homemade bomb was found at one home, but it wasn't operational at the time, prosecutors said."
The Independent funds on-the-ground reporting across reproductive rights, climate change and Big Tech and offers free access. Geert Wilders said he will not leave until reports are investigated that he was a possible target of a Belgian plot to kill politicians using a drone with explosives. Belgian police detained three men after searches in Antwerp; investigators found a non-operational homemade bomb, a bag of steel balls and a 3D printer used to make parts for the planned attack. Prosecutors opened an investigation into attempted terrorist murder; Belgian ministers named Prime Minister Bart De Wever as a possible target.
