"One of the most spectacular is Abu Simbel in Upper Egypt along Lake Nasser, near the Sudan border. It comprises the Temple for Ramses II and a Temple for his wife, Nefertiti. They were literally hewn from rocks surrounding them, with tombs and bas relief walls of figures below this entrance. The size of these outer statues is so impressive."
