The city scored well for its 'prosperity', particularly for having high-achieving airports that make it attractive to tourists."
Resonance crowned London the greatest city for 2026, marking its 11th consecutive year at number one. Rankings used liveability, lovability and prosperity scores derived from core statistics, Google, Instagram and TikTok data, plus a survey of over 21,000 respondents assessing city perception. London scored especially high on prosperity, driven by strong airport performance, including Heathrow's record arrivals and Gatwick's significant upgrade. International traveller spending in London rose by nearly $5 billion (£3.8 billion) from 2023 to 2024, outpacing New York and Dubai and reflecting a robust post-pandemic recovery.
