Venezuela condemns US Caribbean strikes at the UN DW 10/17/2025
"If you say a boat has narcotics on it, where is the narcotics? We want evidence, we want proof. There is nothing,"
"reaffirming the principle of unrestricted respect for the sovereignty, political independence, and territorial integrity of states,"
"There is a killer prowling the Caribbean,"
"set of extrajudicial executions"
Venezuela's ambassador to the UN condemned a series of US strikes in the Caribbean as a set of extrajudicial executions and urged the UN Security Council to open an investigation. Five lethal attacks and 27 reported deaths have occurred since the strikes began in September, according to the ambassador. US officials contend the operations target suspected drug traffickers in maritime areas. Families of missing people demand proof that those killed were traffickers and seek evidence of narcotics. The ambassador requested a Security Council statement reaffirming respect for state sovereignty, but US veto power limits Council actions.
