US Army Secretary Daniel Driscoll is meeting Russian and Ukrainian officials in Abu Dhabi to try to reconcile a US peace plan influenced by Russian demands with Ukraine's response supported by Europe. Driscoll previously met Russian representatives on Monday night, though there was no official confirmation. Ukraine is likely to be represented by intelligence chief Kyrylo Budanov. Geneva talks saw Ukraine push back on some Russian maximalist demands. Despite diplomacy, Russia launched overnight strikes that killed at least six, injured 13, and damaged Kyiv's energy and water infrastructure. French president Emmanuel Macron warned against a settlement amounting to Kyiv's capitulation.
