Daniel Naroditsky died; the Charlotte Chess Centre announced his death and described him as a talented chess player, educator, and beloved community member. His family asked that he be remembered for his passion and love for the game and for the joy and inspiration he brought to others every day. The cause of death was not immediately known. Naroditsky became a grandmaster at 18, won the Under-12 World Championship, authored chess strategy books as a teenager, and maintained top-200 classical and top-25 blitz rankings. He won the US National Blitz Championship in August and popularized chess through livestreaming on YouTube and Twitch, attracting thousands of viewers and providing live educational commentary.
