UN Security Council members warned that Israel's efforts to expand control in the West Bank threaten prospects for a two-state solution. UN Under-Secretary-General Rosemary DiCarlo said the situation in the occupied West Bank is deteriorating rapidly, citing widespread raids, home takeovers, mass detentions, movement restrictions and repeated displacement of Palestinian families, particularly in the north. She described these actions as a gradual de facto annexation. Recent Israeli land regulation measures will deepen control over the occupied West Bank.
