Yoweri Museveni has been declared the winner of Uganda's presidential election and has secured a seventh term, extending his rule beyond four decades. The Electoral Commission announced Museveni won with more than 71.65% of the vote, while main challenger Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, best known as Bobi Wine, received 24.72%. Bobi Wine said he escaped a raid by security forces on his home and was in hiding in the country; police denied that the raid occurred.
