Maduro promised to protect Venezuela's skies, mountains and plains. The US has deployed a large military force in the Caribbean officially to crack down on drug trafficking. Washington accuses Maduro of heading the 'Cartel of the Suns', which was designated a foreign terrorist organization despite experts questioning its existence.
