Nasry Asfura received 40.27% of the vote while Salvador Nasralla received 39.39%, according to the CNE. President Trump alleged on Truth Social that Honduran officials were "trying to change" results and warned there would be "hell to pay" without providing evidence. Nasralla continued to allege fraud and had not immediately conceded. Héctor Corrales of NODO, who worked with the EU observer mission, reported no evidence of widespread or large-scale fraud. Senator Marco Rubio congratulated Asfura on a "clear electoral victory" and urged all parties to respect confirmed results to ensure a peaceful transition. Xiomara Castro previously became Honduras' first female president.
