African countries dominate the top of the list, including the Seychelles ($15,775), Botswana ($15,619), Kenya ($15,251), Namibia ($14,147), Zimbabwe ($13,925), Tanzania ($13,092), and South Africa ($12,725). Antarctica averages $14,491 per trip, ranking fifth. Europe remains the most popular region for Americans in 2025, with 75% planning trips and average spending of $5,832.

In fact, the study found travelers who head to the East African country are spending an average of $18,417 per trip. Most known for its incredible gorilla trekking, Rwanda also offers several other wildlife spotting opportunities from the chance to see wild chimpanzees in Nyungwe National Park to looking for the Big Five in Akagera National Park.
African countries dominated the list of pricey destinations with the Seychelles coming in second place thanks to an average trip cost of $15,775. Botswana, which boasts an average cost of $15,619, came in at No. 3, followed by Kenya at No. 4 with an average cost of $15,251, Namibia at No. 6 with an average cost of $14,147, and Zimbabwe at No. 8 with an average trip cost of $13,925.
Beyond Africa, the company noted journeys to Antarctica tended to be pricey. The average trip to the 7th continent costs $14,491, firmly planting it as the fifth most expensive destination. There are several ways to visit Antarctica, including cruises and flights to the white continent. While many of these trips are once-in-a-lifetime experiences, the company said trips to Europe were still the most popular choice for American travelers in 2025.
