Hundreds of thousands attended the event held a little more than two years after militants broke into Israel from Gaza, killed 1,200 people and took hundreds of hostages. Steve Witkoff, the president's special envoy, praised Trump and also applauded Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his staff for their efforts. Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner attended; Kushner said he would not celebrate until the hostages are safely home. Officials say 20 of the remaining 48 hostages are believed to be alive.
