England edged Nepal by four runs in the T20 World Cup opener in Mumbai after a tense finish. Sam Curran defended 10 runs in the final over with pinpoint yorkers to deny Nepal a historic victory. Lokesh Bam finished unbeaten on 39 from 20 balls, hitting Jofra Archer for 22 in the 18th over and striking two boundaries off Luke Wood in the 19th. Bam required six from the final delivery but managed only a single and sank to his haunches in disappointment. Head coach Brendon McCullum and captain Harry Brook avoided a major upset as England regroup for their next match.
