Bangladesh Cricket Board refused to play men's T20 World Cup matches in India citing concerns about safety and well-being of players and officials. The Board resolved that the Bangladesh National Team will not travel to India for the tournament under the current conditions, following assessment and advice from the Bangladesh Government. The BCB has formally requested the International Cricket Council to relocate all of Bangladesh's matches to a venue outside India. India and Sri Lanka are co-hosting the tournament from February 7 to March 8. Bangladesh were scheduled to play three group matches in Kolkata and one in Mumbai. The decision creates logistical and political challenges for the ICC and follows the release of Mustafizur Rahman from the Kolkata Knight Riders.
