Saudi Arabia dumped LIV-but it's not getting out of the golf world entirely
""People are hitting golf balls, they're having fun, they're eating food. They're not drinking, because there's no drinking there, but they're having a great time.""
""The bone saw tour""
""The fund didn't respond to Fast Company 's requests for comment.""
""PIF said backing LIV Golf no longer aligns with its current investment strategy, pointing to 'investment priorities and current macro dynamics.'""
Five Iron Golf launched its first location in Saudi Arabia after three years of coordination with Golf Saudi. The center is located in the Public Investment Fund Tower in Riyadh and features simulators, leagues, lessons, and food. The brand, which started in Manhattan in 2017, has over 40 U.S. venues and has expanded internationally. Franchise agreements typically involve fees and a percentage of revenue. The opening coincides with PIF's decision to stop funding the LIV Golf tour, citing misalignment with investment strategies.
