""Compromises have not yet been found.""
""There is still a lot of work to be done," Ushakov told reporters at a briefing in the Kremlin."
""Some American draft proposals look more or less acceptable, but they need to be discussed," Ushakov said. "Some of the formulations that have been proposed to us are not suitable for us, that is - the work will continue.""
President Trump has repeatedly sought to end Europe's deadliest conflict since World War Two. High-level talks in Moscow involved Vladimir Putin, special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner and ran past midnight. Yuri Ushakov said compromises have not yet been found and that there is still a lot of work to be done. Putin reacted negatively to some US proposals. Witkoff briefed the White House after visiting the US embassy. No meeting between Putin and Trump is currently planned. Talks were described as constructive with potential for US-Russia economic cooperation. The parties discussed the "territorial problem" over Donbas, where Ukraine controls at least 5,000 square km. Some American draft proposals were somewhat acceptable but others were unsuitable, so negotiations will continue.
