At least 12 people were killed and 27 wounded in a suicide blast outside a district court in Islamabad. The attacker attempted to enter the court premises but, failing to do so, targeted a police vehicle near a gate of the court complex. The area is normally crowded with people attending court proceedings and witnesses reported chaos, fires and casualties at the scene. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said authorities are investigating from multiple angles. Pakistan continues to face insurgencies from militant groups including the TTP, ISKP and Baloch separatists, and security forces recently foiled another militant attack in Wana.
