The October 7 massacre unleashed a historic spike in antisemitism, producing harassment, threats, and attacks against Jewish people. Jewish students faced harassment on college campuses, synagogues increased security, and families reconsidered displaying religious symbols at home. New research from the Anti-Defamation League reports 57% of American Jews now view antisemitism as a normal part of Jewish life. Over half of Jewish Americans experienced antisemitism in the past year, and nearly one in five faced verbal harassment, threats, or physical attacks. Campus incidents rose 84% to 1,694 in 2024, more than 80% of Jewish students witnessed or experienced antisemitism, and 71% of parents reported classroom incidents. Jewish institutions became targets, including a Manhattan incident in which a man threatened worshippers.
