Myanmar junta airstrike on hospital kills dozens, rebels say DW 12/11/2025
""Yesterday's airstrike by the terrorist Myanmar junta on public hospitals in Mrauk-U on December 10 International Human Rights Day is yet another example of how the fascist regime in Naypyidaw blatantly kills its own citizens, committing war crimes in broad daylight with no regard for human life," the United League of Arakan (ULA) told DW. The Arakan Army is the armed wing of the ULA."
""The terrorist military council's air force dropped two bombs using a jet fighter," the rebel group said in a post on Telegram. Aid worker Wai Hun Aung said the hospital was in complete ruins and bodies of victims lay on the ground, sharing unverified images of the scene with news agency Reuters. "The remaining patients have been moved to a safe location," he said."
A military aircraft dropped bombs on a major hospital in Mrauk-U, Rakhine, late on Wednesday, causing extensive destruction. At least 31 people were killed and around 70 others injured, with several of the dead identified as patients. The Arakan Army and the United League of Arakan said the attack occurred on December 10, International Human Rights Day, and called it a war crime. Aid workers described the hospital as in ruins and reported bodies at the scene while remaining patients were moved to safer locations. The strike came amid fighting as the junta seeks to retake territory before elections on December 28.
