McLaren's Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri disqualified from Las Vegas GP
"Both McLaren drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, the two leading protagonists of the Formula One world championship, were disqualified from the Las Vegas Grand Prix. The decision came over four hours after the conclusion of the race, their cars having been found to have breached regulations around the thickness of the skid block on the floor of the car."
"Verstappen won the race in Nevada comfortably having taken the lead from Norris through the first corner of the opening lap and drove a dominant run to take the flag with Norris claiming second and Piastri fourth. Oscar Piastri was also disqualified from the Las Vegas Grand Prix."
Both McLaren drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri were disqualified from the Las Vegas Grand Prix after post-race inspection found their skid blocks worn below the 9mm minimum. The decision came more than four hours after the race conclusion and removed both drivers from the results. The ruling elevates Max Verstappen back into title contention, leaving Norris 24 points clear and Piastri level on points with Verstappen but behind on count-back. Two championship rounds remain in Qatar and Abu Dhabi. The skid block thickness rule is strictly policed to prevent teams gaining an advantage by running cars too low.
