Five men emerged from a flooded cave in Laos on Saturday, bringing the total rescued to five after rescuers pumped water out of the cave system. One person reached the surface a day earlier, while two remain missing. Divers discovered the men on Wednesday and provided water, soft food, and foil blankets while they waited. Seven people entered the cave last week, but a flash flood blocked the exit. Rescue teams from Laos and Thailand, with Japanese and Malaysian colleagues, arrived in Xaisomboun province about 120 kilometers north of Vientiane, and pumping on Friday was complicated by a morning rainstorm.
