Jaguar Land Rover hack cost around $2.4 billion and counting
""The reality is this: as Ola Electric scales up production ... a misleading narrative of tech intrigue is being weaponised to undercut India's emergence as a global player in advanced energy technology," "India's progress in advanced cell technology, exemplified by the 4680 Bharat Cell, is the direct result of this vision for technological self-reliance. We will not allow business rivalries or motivated media speculation to derail India's push toward global leadership in clean energy and battery innovation,""
""There is no denying this was a difficult quarter with disruption from a cyber incident," "This is something that is happening to more and more companies that no company would ever wish for.""
Tata Motors, owner of Jaguar Land Rover, reported that a cyberattack that halted UK production has so far cost around £1.8 billion ($2.35 billion). The company recorded £196 million ($258 million) of exceptional costs directly tied to the incident and saw quarterly revenue decline from £6.5 billion to £4.9 billion year‑over‑year. Sales growth in India partially offset the impact. Ola Electric denied allegations that it stole pouch‑cell technology from LG, stated it is not interested in pouch cells, and said it has developed its own 4680 Bharat Cell while rejecting media narratives that undermine India's energy‑tech ambitions.
