The Israeli military said explosions in Doha resulted from an assassination attempt against members of the Hamas leadership and senior Palestinian officials. The military said the IDF and Shin Bet, through the Air Force, recently carried out a targeted attack on top Hamas leadership members directly responsible for the October 7 massacre and the ongoing war against Israel. The statement said steps were taken to minimize harm to uninvolved people, including the use of precision weapons and additional intelligence. Israel has been bombing Gaza, Lebanon, Yemen and Syria and conducting daily operations in the occupied West Bank. Qatar condemned the attack as a violation of international law, called it a threat to its security and sovereignty, and said investigations are underway.
