Interim President Ahmad al-Sharaa met SDF commander Mazloum Abdi in Damascus to discuss a ceasefire, but Abdi issued no statement afterward and the talks were described as not positive. Abdi said he is dissatisfied with the ceasefire terms, requested more time to consult his commanders, and repeated a proposal for the SDF to integrate into Syria's army as units rather than individuals. The meeting followed an agreed immediate ceasefire on Sunday, yet heavy bombardment and clashes were reported in Raqqa on Monday evening. The SDF reported violent clashes near Raqqa, and about 1,500 IS members escaped from Shaddadeh prison. The ceasefire remains fragile and its implementation is unclear.
