Iran Signals Readiness For Nuclear Deal If US Lifts Sanctions
"We are ready to discuss this and other issues related to our [nuclear] program provided they are ready also to talk about the sanctions."
"Those sanctions have to be also on the table,"
"in America's court to prove that they want to do a deal."
Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi said on 15 February in Tehran that Iran is ready to discuss its nuclear program if the United States is ready to discuss sanctions. He insisted that US sanctions must be on the table and said the ball was in America's court to prove it wants a deal. Takht-Ravanchi did not specify which sanctions would be negotiable. He cited Iran's offer to dilute 60%-enriched uranium and said zero enrichment was no longer on the table. Geneva talks between US envoys and Iranian representatives, mediated by Oman, were scheduled for 17 February.
