Iran Says Nuclear Talks With US Should Resume Soon After Oman Meeting

Tehran and Washington held indirect negotiations mediated by Oman and agreed talks should resume soon, without a set timeline. Iran signaled openness to a deal while declaring its missile program and uranium enrichment nonnegotiable. Iran's foreign minister stated missiles are a defensive issue and that banning enrichment is unacceptable. Iran warned it would target US bases in the region if attacked. US President Donald Trump described the talks as very good and suggested Iran appeared eager to make a deal. The meetings occurred amid a US military buildup in the Middle East and domestic unrest in Iran.
