The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it."

The Independent sends journalists to cover reproductive rights, climate change and Big Tech, investigates political PACs and produces documentaries such as 'The A Word', while keeping reporting freely accessible and funded by donations. A global Interpol operation, Liberterra III, deployed 14,000 officers across 119 countries from Nov. 10 to Nov. 21 and resulted in 3,744 arrests, protection of 4,414 potential trafficking victims and detection of 12,992 people involved in illegal migration schemes. Authorities opened at least 720 new investigations. Interpol noted criminal networks are evolving, exploiting new routes, digital platforms and vulnerable populations, and identifying patterns helps anticipate threats, disrupt networks earlier and better protect victims.
