Injury forces Lorenzo Musetti to retire, sending Novak Djokovic to Australian Open semifinals
"MELBOURNE, Australia -- Novak Djokovic will play in his 13th Australian Open semifinal after his quarterfinal opponent, Lorenzo Musetti, retired from their match Wednesday night while leading the 24-time major champion two sets to none. Musetti, the No. 5 seed at Melbourne Park, led Djokovic 6-4, 6-3, 1-2 when he called for the physiotherapist to attend to an apparent right quadricep strain."
""I don't know what to say except that I feel really sorry for him," Djokovic said in an on-court interview. "He was the far better player -- I was on my way home tonight." It's the second time in as many matches that Djokovic advanced due to an injured opponent. He received a walkover in the fourth round when Jakub Mensik withdrew from the tournament, citing an abdominal strain."
