A wildlife influencer known as The Real Tarzann, Mike Holston, stepped off a boat near Lockhart River in Cape York and wrestled a freshwater crocodile, later attempting to capture a saltwater crocodile and releasing both animals. Holston posted the videos to his 15 million Instagram followers, with one clip receiving nearly two million likes and showing he suffered a bite. Queensland authorities opened an investigation, called the actions dangerous and illegal, and said they may pursue fines up to 37,500 Australian dollars. The incidents drew public criticism and highlighted a trend of influencers mishandling wildlife.
