India news: Drone attack kills 2 Indians in Oman
"Two Indian nationals were killed by drone strikes in Oman, India's Foreign Ministry has said Indian airlines have raised ticket prices to compensate for higher fuel prices amid the Iran conflict. Millions of Indians live and work in the Middle East."
"Eleven Indian nationals have been arrested and charged for staging armed robberies to attain a "victim" status to game the US immigration system, US officials said late on Friday. The 11 accused "staged armed robberies of at least six convenience/liquor stores and fast food restaurants in Massachusetts and more elsewhere," the US Attorney's office said in a statement."
"It is alleged that the purpose of the staged robberies was to allow the clerks present to claim falsely that they were victims of a violent crime on an application for U non-immigration status (U Visa). The U Visa is available to victims of specific crimes and have suffered physical or mental abuse."
Two Indian nationals were killed by drone strikes in Oman according to India's Foreign Ministry, bringing the death toll of Indians in the US-Israel conflict with Iran to at least five. The escalating tensions have caused significant economic impacts on India, with Indian airlines increasing ticket prices to offset higher fuel expenses resulting from the regional conflict. Additionally, eleven Indian nationals were arrested and charged with staging armed robberies across Massachusetts and other locations to fraudulently obtain U Visa status by falsely claiming victim status for violent crimes. The scheme involved coordinated robberies at convenience stores, liquor stores, and fast food restaurants, with store clerks planning to file false applications claiming they were victims of violent crimes.
