Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva arrived in New Delhi with more than a dozen ministers and a large business delegation, including major CEOs, to attend the AI Impact Summit 2026. The visit aims to intensify trade ties with India and explore under-tapped export markets for cotton, seeds, teak, soybean oil and minerals, including rare earths. India assumed the BRICS presidency from Brazil this year, and Lula's trip follows Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's July 2025 visit to Brasilia. The summit features global leaders and industrial cooperation such as the Tata-Airbus helicopter assembly project.
