"Whether its trump or U.S. imperialism, the whole system itself, we have to come together. Enough is enough. I think it's important for us to react swiftly and show our numbers because ordinary people coming together for this scares warmongers."
"I don't think Americans understand U.S. imperialism, U.S. intervention. In order to really understand what is going on, we have to understand our own role in what's happening."
"The assassination of one person will not bring that regime down. Iranians are proud. And they will not look kindly, I predict, on the U.S.-Israeli attack is an attempt to install a government that friendly to Israel."
Hundreds of demonstrators gathered at San Francisco's Ferry Building and Market Street to protest U.S. and Israeli military strikes against Iran. The protest was organized by Iranian Americans and activists who oppose foreign intervention in Iran's governance. Organizer Dina Saadeh emphasized the importance of understanding U.S. imperialism and intervention policies. Protesters carried signs reading "Hands off Iran" and "No bombs on Iran." Professor George Bisharat noted that assassinating a single leader would not destabilize the Iranian regime and predicted Iranians would reject U.S.-Israeli attempts to install a friendly government. Participants questioned whether the U.S. was negotiating in good faith with Iran prior to the military action.
