Gunfire, explosions at paramilitary HQ in Pakistan's Peshawar: Reports
"Gunmen, suicide bomber attacks the Federal Constabulary headquarters in Peshawar, media reports say. Gunmen and a suicide bomber have attacked a paramilitary force headquarters in Pakistan's northwestern city of Peshawar, according to media reports. The Dawn daily reported on Monday that the headquarters of the Federal Constabulary (FC) was under attack and that a suicide bomber had detonated their explosives at the gate to the complex."
"It added that three FC officers were killed in the attack and that two others were wounded. The Reuters news agency reported that the complex was hit by two suicide bombers and that at least three people had been killed. The first suicide bomber first carried out an attack on the main entrance of the constabulary, and the other one entered the compound, a senior official who spoke on condition of anonymity was quoted as saying."
A coordinated attack targeted the Federal Constabulary headquarters in Peshawar, involving gunmen and at least two suicide bombers. One bomber detonated explosives at the gate while another entered the compound after an initial attack on the main entrance. Multiple fighters were killed and several FC officers died, with additional officers wounded. Security forces, including army and police units, cordoned off the area and conducted careful operations amid concerns that attackers remained inside the headquarters. The FC headquarters sits in a crowded area close to a military cantonment, increasing risk to nearby civilians.
