Greta Thunberg wore Bohemians jersey again onboard Gaza aid ship
"Ms Thunberg, who had been pictured wearing the jersey before, joined around 350 other activists pledging to "break Israel's illegal siege on Gaza" with a flotilla of approximately 20 vessels. Contained on the flotilla, known as the The Global Sumud Flotilla, were vital supplies of food, water and medicine with the express mission of perforating the naval blockade imposed by Israel on Gaza in order to deliver to those in need."
"The flotilla was forced back to port yesterday after a storm hit parts of Spain overnight. The Global Sumud Flotilla, consisting of around 20 boats with participants from 44 countries, chose to return and delay its departure to "prioritise safety", a statement said. Facing winds of more than 60kmh, some of the smaller boats taking part in the mission would have been at risk, it said."
"Other boats are expected to join the flotilla from across the Mediterranean in the coming days, including from Tunis and Sicily. The Israeli military is likely to try and stop the boats from getting near Gaza, as they have done in the past. The flotilla is the largest attempt yet to break the Israeli blockade of the Palestinian territory by sea."
Greta Thunberg joined about 350 activists aboard the Global Sumud Flotilla, a convoy of roughly 20 vessels carrying food, water and medicine intended to penetrate Israel’s naval blockade of Gaza. Participants came from 44 countries and planned to deliver supplies to those in need while asserting the mission as solidarity with Palestinians and the 'bare minimum to uphold international law.' A storm and strong winds forced the flotilla to return to Barcelona and delay departure to prioritise safety. Other boats from across the Mediterranean, including Tunis and Sicily, are expected to join, and the Israeli military is likely to try to stop approaches to Gaza.
