Danish Foreign Minister Lars Lkke Rasmussen and Greenland's Foreign Minister Vivian Motzfeldt met with U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio at the White House to discuss Greenland's future. Rasmussen said fundamental disagreements remain, and both Copenhagen and Nuuk rejected the possibility of U.S. annexation. Denmark and Greenland expressed willingness to strengthen Arctic security cooperation with the United States while insisting that cooperation does not equal U.S. ownership. Danish intelligence reported no Chinese warship near Greenland in the past decade. Denmark announced an increased military presence and extended exercises in Greenland.
