GAZA DEAL REACHED: TRUMP
"I am very proud to announce that Israel and Hamas have both signed off on the first Phase of our Peace Plan. This means that ALL of the Hostages will be released very soon, and Israel will withdraw their Troops to an agreed upon line as the first steps toward a Strong, Durable, and Everlasting Peace,"
"I was just told we are close to a deal in the Middle East and they will need me soon,"
Israel and Hamas signed the first phase of a 20-point peace plan calling for imminent release of all hostages and an Israeli troop withdrawal to an agreed line. Negotiations took place in Egypt with U.S. representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner present, alongside negotiators from Israel and Hamas and mediators from Qatar, Egypt and Turkey. The deal follows the 20-point plan announced last week. Remaining issues include disarming Hamas and Gaza’s future governing structure. During a White House event Secretary of State Marco Rubio handed President Trump a note saying a deal was close; Trump said he might travel to the region and Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt linked any trip to a Friday physical exam.
