Former Australian Test cricketer Damien Martyn in induced coma

Brad Hardie described the situation as a fight for his life and urged hope for recovery. Meningitis is inflammation of the membranes that cover the brain and spinal cord. Martyn played 67 Tests for Australia, scoring 4,406 runs at a 46.37 average and produced key innings including an unbeaten 88 in the 2003 World Cup final.
