Sturla Holm Laegreid won bronze in the 20km men's biathlon and publicly admitted he cheated on his girlfriend. He said he met her six months ago, called her the love of his life, and described the past week as the worst of his life after confessing the affair. The unidentified woman said forgiveness is hard, that she did not choose to be placed in the spotlight, and that they have had contact with him aware of her views. Laegreid apologized to a teammate for the distraction and expressed hope that she is doing okay.
