Nearly six months after Miller Gardner's death, Costa Rican agents conducted a three-hour raid at the Arenas del Mar Beachfront & Rainforest Resort to collect additional evidence tied to an autopsy that determined carbon monoxide as the cause of death. The operation marked the first formal search of the hotel since earlier site measurements for toxic substances. Investigators searched management, maintenance and accounting offices and retrieved physical and digital evidence. Several hotel staff members were interviewed and described as cooperative. No arrests or charges have been filed. The Public Ministry coordinated with the Gardner family's Costa Rica lawyers and an FBI attaché.
