Cambodia shuts borders with Thailand amid ongoing fighting DW 12/13/2025
"The Royal Government of Cambodia has decided to fully suspend all entry and exit movements at all Cambodia-Thailand border crossings, effective immediately and until further notice,"
"continue to perform military actions until we feel no more harm and threats to our land and people,"
"I want to make it clear. Our actions this morning already spoke,"
"there are no ceasefire negotations, and it is not yet the time for that."
Cambodia fully suspended all entry and exit at Cambodia–Thailand border crossings effective immediately and until further notice as hostilities continued along the frontier. Thailand maintained that military strikes would continue until Thailand no longer felt under threat, denied the existence of a ceasefire, and insisted that Cambodia should first stop attacks. US mediation produced a reported agreement for both countries to stop fighting. Recent cross-border clashes tied to a renewed territorial dispute this year have displaced more than 500,000 people, killed more than 20 people including civilians, and wounded hundreds.
