Ahmed al Ahmed, a father of two and tobacco store owner, hid behind parked cars, wrestled a gunman from behind, seized his weapon, and suffered gunshot wounds. Ahmed is recovering from surgery in hospital and received a $2.5m fundraising cheque from 43,000 donors, including Car Hub Australia and Bill Ackman. One alleged gunman has been charged with 59 offences.
